Alexandros Kolonias posted his 1st-ever 7-figure money earlier this week following winning the 2019 Planet Series of Poker Main Occasion.

The Greek poker professional went up against a 541-player discipline in the 10,350 main event, which amassed a 5,139,500 prize pool. Kolonias' portion for the massive win was 1,333,678 ($1,258,383 US). He also collected his very first WSOP bracelet.

Acquiring that bracelet was not easy, as his opponents at the 6-guy ultimate table on the ultimate day had a combined 4 WSOP bracelets. The speak of the ultimate table was Dario Sammartino. Just a number of months ago Sammartino completed as the runner-up in the major occasion at the WSOP in Las Vegas.

He wasn't capable to match that finish in Europe, but he still posted an remarkable fourth location finish to pick up 341,702 ($379,289 US).

Kolonias started the final day 2nd in chips behind chip leader Anthony Zino. It took less than half an hour for Kolonias to wrestle away the chip lead from Zino, who eventually bowed out in third place to obtain 485,291 ($538,673 US).

During the last table the chip lead was repeatedly traded back-and-forth among Kolonias and Germany's Claas Segebrecht. Naturally it came down to Kolonias and Segebrecht heads-ups for the tournament title.

When heads-up play began Kolonias had the chip lead with 31. Link one million chips to Segebrecht's 23 million. Despite a double-up from Segebrecht at a single level it only took a handful of hands for all the chips to go to Kolonias.

On the last hand, with blinds at 300,000/600,000, Kolonias raised to 1.two million from the tiny blind position and Segebrecht replied by pushing all-in. Kolonias manufactured the phone and showed A-K suited spades. Segebrecht showed pocket threes.
